Dr Geoffrey Barnard, former Communar of Chichester Cathedral and before that, Principal of St Katherine's College Liverpool, was awarded a Senior Fellowship of Liverpool Hope University, of which St Katherine's is now a part.

The Vice Chancellor, Professor Gerald Pillay and Professor Bernard Longden travelled to Chichester to confer the Award at a ceremony in Chichester Cathedral on Tuesday 25th July. In welcoming the University to Chichester, the Dean, who was formerly Rector of Liverpool said, `This is a great honour for Dr Barnard and I am delighted that it is taking place in the Cathedral to which Geoffrey has given so much over the years'.
